I am a contemporary artist and writer, based in Stirlingshire. My work is deeply rooted in the natural world, drawing inspiration from the rich flora and fauna of the British countryside, the rugged beauty of Scottish landscapes, and the inherent wisdom found in the 'peace of wild things’.

I work with oils, drawn to their versatile and textural qualities. Embracing the alla prima technique (‘at first attempt’ ), I tend to complete most of my pieces in a single session, aiming to capture the joy and freshness of passing moments in nature.
With each of my paintings, I create illustrated thoughts from the animal’s perspective, inspiring contemplation on some big ideas. You can see some of these with my 'When Beasts Spoke' range. With gentle and evocative short stories, I hope to invite viewers to embark on a journey of mindfulness and gratitude, through observations on the little things in life, and the joys of nature.

If you are interested in a particular subject, and would like to see it in my style, please get in touch. I give the option to have first refusal of a particular animal/subject when a new one is painted. Let me know you are interested, and I'll contact you to see if my latest little creature is what you are looking for! If you would like to commission a piece of art we can discuss content, colour palette, size of canvas, etc. and hopefully I can create exactly what you are looking for in my style! I don't do pet portraits, but I love to paint all animals and landscapes so message me with your ideas and we can go from there.
